4 Proofs of Denji Being Power's Best Friend

When demons possess human corpses, they transform into Majins. Usually, Majins retain a human appearance, but their thoughts are controlled by the demons, and there is a distinctive mark on the head of the Majin. However, Power is a rare case, as she possesses rational thoughts. Thus, Power was recruited as a Devil Hunter, and she became Denji's partner.

Here Are 4 Proofs of Denji Being Power's Best Friend:

1. Denji Helps Power Rescue Nyako (Meowy)

Before joining as a Devil Hunter, Power owned a cat named Nyako. While Power and Nyako were relaxing on a rooftop, suddenly Nyako was captured by the Bat Devil. The condition of the Bat Devil was quite dire, as it was severely injured and forced to take refuge in the house due to its arm being severed by a human attack.

Later, the Bat Devil told Power that if she agreed to give Nyako back to her, as long as Power brought a human for it to consume, as the Bat Devil needed human blood to regenerate its severed arm,

After Power made Denji pass out, she offered Denji as a meal for the Bat Devil. Eventually, the Bat Devil squeezed blood from Denji's body, drank it, and managed to regenerate its arm. Unfortunately, the Bat Devil reneged on its promise to return Nyako to Power. It swallowed Nyako and even captured Power and placed her inside its mouth.

Fortunately, Denji didn't hold a grudge against Power for her mistreatment, as he transformed into Chainsaw Man and fought against the Bat Devil. Despite the Bat Devil's resistance, Chainsaw Man defeated it and tore apart its belly to prevent it from digesting Power and Nyako. Eventually, Denji managed to save both Power and Nyako, keeping them safe.

In reality, Denji sympathized with Power, as he couldn't bear to imagine the heartbreak Power would feel, remembering Nyako being devoured by the Bat Devil. This is because Denji had lost Pochita earlier on, searching throughout the city only to assume Pochita had been eaten by a demon. But when Denji returned home later that night, Pochita was waiting, crying. Denji felt immense relief that Pochita was still alive and spent the night sleeping while embracing Pochita.

2. Denji Protects Power from punishment.

When Aki visited Denji, who was lying in a hospital bed due to exhaustion from battling the Bat Devil and losing against the Leech Devil, he informed Denji that Demons and Majins always desire human death. Additionally, Aki had noticed scattered traces of Denji's blood in the yard of the Bat Devil's house, leading him to suspect that Power had harmed Denji.

Although Denji and Power had only recently become partners as Devil Hunters, Denji readily agreed to help Power save Nyako from the Bat Devil. Unfortunately, Power had planned to set up Denji when they visited the Bat Devil's house. She delivered a hard blow to Denji's head, causing bleeding and making him pass out. Power then took Denji to be exchanged for Nyako, who was being held captive by the Bat Devil.

Fortunately, Denji didn't hold a grudge against Power's mistreatment. Denji refuted Aki's accusation that Power had harmed him and referred to her as a good girl. If Denji were to reveal the true events to Aki, Power would be expelled from the Devil Hunters, hunted down, and likely eliminated. Even Denji's attempt to protect the guilty Majin would result in his expulsion from the Devil Hunters if his lie were discovered.

However, Aki believed Denji's words. Subsequently, Aki confronted Power, who was being guarded by Himeno, and released the handcuffs from Power's hands, which had been suspected of wrongdoing.

3. Denji Doesn't Hold Power's Bad Deed Against her.

When Katana Man and Akane launched a surprise attack on Denji, Aki, Himeno, and Power, who were enjoying their ramen, it resulted in Denji being critically injured, Aki collapsing, and Himeno losing her life. Power, on the other hand, managed to escape the dangerous situation without the enemy or her teammates noticing, avoiding any involvement in the fight and remaining unharmed.

Next, Power and Denji visited Aki, who was lying in a hospital bed. To prevent any negative actions from being brought up, Power turned off the television that was broadcasting news about Devil Hunters being shot by humans who conspired with demons. Subsequently, Power remained relaxed, sitting next to Denji, who was reading a manga while eating an apple.

However, Power suddenly got angry when Denji stopped her from eating the apple, as Denji intended to address Power's cowardly behavior of fleeing during the battle. This led to a small argument between Denji and Power. Power justified her actions by claiming that she was hungry during the fight and went home, but Denji knew that Power was lying. Despite intending to punish Power by withholding the apple, Denji ultimately gave the apple to Power.

4. Denji Reprimands Power's Behavior That Risks Mission Failure

When the New Division Unit 4 was assigned to capture Katana Man and Akane with the threat that if they failed, Division 4 would be disbanded, Denji and Power found themselves at risk of losing their jobs as Devil Hunters.

During their mission, Denji grew uneasy about Power's behavior, as she was riding in the elevator while eating flesh from a severed Zombie hand. Moreover, Power considered meat to be just meat, whether it came from an animal or a human. Eventually, Denji told Power that they were tasked with capturing Katana Man and reminded her that once they succeeded, she should refrain from consuming Katana Man.

It was only natural that Denji reprimanded Power for her indiscriminate eating habits. If Power were to truly eat Katana Man, not only would Denji and Power lose their positions as Devil Hunters, but they would also be in danger of being eliminated as demons by their mentor, Kishibe.
